Alana Maiello is a documentary film director and producer whose debut film Esfuerzo, winner of the Audience Award for Best Picture at the 2018 Oceanside International Film Festival, gives a voice to Mexican American immigrant winemakers and grape pickers in Central California. Esfuerzo is touring the festival circuit and will be screening at the Portland Film Festival and the Napa Valley Film Festival this fall. Esfuerzo is also an award nominee for Best Documentary and Best Short Film at the New York City Web Fest.


Alana is currently directing a feature documentary that will address sexual assault.  Alana has worked on the behind-the-scenes filming and talent interviews for the following HBO shows: Insecure, Barry, The Defiant Ones, Sharp Objects, The Zen Diaries Of Garry Shandling, and Elvis Presley: The Searcher. She also works as Head of Production and Creative Development at Maxico Media. She has consulted brands including The Killers, Grow, and Blue Fever.
